The Frame
Aluminum frame structures are composed of extrusions
using the alloys 6005-T5 and 6063-T5. All aluminum
welding will use 5356 series aluminum filler wire
in accordance with ANSI/AWS D1.2-90 GMAW process.
Fasteners will be type 304 Stainless Steel or A325
Hot-Dipped Galvanized. Uniform live load designs will
be based upon the type of use expected. Residential
or light use bridges will be designed for a uniform
live load of 60 p.s.f. Commercial use bridges or heavily
used public bridges will be designed for a minimum
live load of 85 p.s.f. Custom designs to accommodate
specialized load conditions, water piping, electrical
conduits, etc., are available at your request. All
bridges will conform to the current edition of the
Aluminum Association Specification for aluminum structures.
Decking
The bridge floor may be made from a variety of materials:
- Aluminum or painted aluminum
